Beer-Battered Cheese Curds with Spicy Ranch

No Wisconsin appetizer is more iconic than deep-fried cheese curds.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb fresh cheese curds
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup beer (Spotted Cow recommended)
  • Oil for frying

Instructions:

Serve with ranch mixed with a dash of hot sauce.

Heat oil in a deep fryer or pan to 375°F.

In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, garlic powder, salt, and beer to form a smooth batter.

Dip cheese curds into the batter and fry until golden brown (2-3 minutes). Drain on paper towels.
